“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.” -Audrey Hepburn.
Happiness can be found in all forms and varies from person to person, but for me, even on my saddest days red lipstick and a good outfit always cheer me up. Even if it’s only temporary. A fresh manicure doesn’t hurt either.
Audrey Hepburn is notorious for her always positive and realistic quotes. This is one of the many reasons why I would want her sitting at my fantasy lunch, along with Oprah and Coco Chanel. I idolize her for so many different reasons, but mainly because of her outlook on life. She has the perfect balance between caring and “I don’t give a damn” attitude I strive for.
Although she believes in miracles, she perfectly explains her realistic life views. Every day is a new chance and a step forward towards your goals. My therapist once told me when I felt hopeless that the day was almost over, and the next day is a new opportunity for new emotions and different attitudes. Audrey Hepburn radiates this positivity and a great outlook on life that I envy.
The icon couldn’t have said it better “I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.” There is nothing more I could say about beauty and happiness. It’s so simply put and matter of fact, that it needs no further explaining.
True beauty radiates from within, meaning your mental state, and attitude affects your inner and outer beauty. With a powerful and positive mindset, I consider that pure beauty. Audrey Hepburn proves this with her confidence and strong opinions.
Obviously, beauty is a vague term and can be defined in so many different ways, but most importantly it’s not how others view you, it’s if you consider yourself as beautiful.
It’s hard to find yourself and what your aesthetic may be, but you won’t ever know what you like until you try. Clothing and makeup are common ways person are able to express themselves artistically.
Personally, I find a strong sense of self and the confidence I have to wear daring outfits or lip colors is an excellent quality I have. I think if you try your best to look good you’ll start feeling right, and I know most days it’s unreasonable to have a full face of makeup on and a perfectly crafted outfit, but when you can try it.
See how it works for you! Especially try out a good lip color! I’ll list some different colors I suggest:
Nars velvet matte lip pencil in the shade let’s go crazy for a hot pink,
and last but definitely not least Make up forever artist rouge in the shade m401 hot red for the perfect red.
Pick out a good outfit (and if you need inspiration, find trendy models on Instagram and copy the look). See how this makes you feel, and hopefully, you can spend some time and learn what you like. Eventually, you’ll grow into your own style, and with that sense of knowing what your style is, it’ll give you a new sense of confidence!
